Benefits: easier content generation and becoming a “creative machine”.
When reading, instead of highlighting, just write about that part. Be selective and do not write more than 3 sentences (be as brief as possible). NO COPY-PASTE!
On each note, make sure to also mention the reference.
After finished reading, write permanent notes, based on your reading notes. Summarize even more, so that you can start to connect information and have new ideas.
Use KEYWORDS/TAGS so that you can retrieve that information.
When having an idea, write it immediately (fleeting note).
Take some time of the day (end of the day?) to review the reading and fleeting notes from that day. Then, compare them to your permanent notes or mind maps and decide which ones to record there.
